@@andrewbradley7815 it wasn't bad, just use a set of thin feeler gauges and slip the motor back in its spot. Feeler gauges are needed to keep the plunger on either side out of the way while shaft is inserted into place.

@@davidleslie949 thanks for pointing out that products can be made overseas but company is based in US. The cost of things here lately has significantly hit consumers hard so although it may be made overseas the company still supports veterans and is US based as with alot of other companies alot of consumers use for vehicle related products. I like and try to support Veteran owned businesses and more specifically US made products whenever possible. I have done all the research I need to do and am comfortable with the purchases made so far. Most everything we use to include the devices I'm replying to you on and that you comment through are not made in this country. As long as they are quality products and support the right people then I will continue to buy those products and offer my honest opinion.

Once you get the motor out of the casing you will see a brass raceway or guide on both sides with brushes that ride in them. On either side of the guides are a plastic ripple that is mushroomed over to secure the metal guide to the motor back plate. You will drill these out and replace with small screws and a nut. Ensure you put some loctite on the nut and the screw inserted from the outside to the inside. Hope this helps. I will post a more in depth video shortly if needed. Fix is holding up well though.

@@donsmods 12+8 plugs into the connectors at your SGM. SGM should be behind the radio if it's a 4th gen body style or left side dash down by the obd port for 5th gen body style.

They have done great, just hit 65k miles.

Is it more likely the motor than the HCU? My light comes and goes a lot.

@@wschmpn I would try the motor and more specifically the brushes before replacing the HCU. This fix has gone over 1000 miles with no issues.

What model year truck do you have?

2018 ram eco diesel. Showing 100% filter is clogged and I should go-to the dealership. Someone told me with the alpha I can force a Regen.

Agreed, I would like to one day put rear air on. Unfortunately time constraints and cost is a factor at the moment.

@@chriso1373 I may have plugged it back in from inside as the headliner was down at some point during the process for drying interior out. Dealer had sealed it incorrectly and water was pooling in the floor. We had to dry it out in the garage with big fans. Easiest to plug in before installing back if you have a helper to hold the light while you put your sealant on. I was using a caulk gun which made it a little more difficult if I recall to hold the light and caulk at the same time.

I solder just fine, got the job done and it haven't had 1 issue with it. Thanks for your expertise.

@@MKSPerformanceOffroad Yup. I got the media hub installed and change it to usb+aux. Carplay worked afterwards. Scree switched to black in reverse but just show's black. Camera still works on old uconnect. Head unit may just be bad Anyway thanks for trying to help

The led strips are integral to the light just as they are from the factory so you would need to buy new assemblies.

Did you wire them to the correct power feed?

@@fidel._.17 test to ensure you have ignition power going to the assembly and that the fuse tap is in a slot in your fuse box that is supplied power and not blank for spare fuses. Some trucks may not have the same fuse locations powered as others. If you verify power going to the light module and you have power getting to the back of the light but nothing happens, I would contact the company you bought them through or alpharex direct.

Albert, sir, thank you much for replying. The interesting thing is that we have three of these trucks two from 2006 one with sunroof one without the one without has never leaked from those front door handles the 2006 with the sunroof when parked at the curb, it does slightly tilt towards the right side on a level street, and 1 inch rain. We hang a 1 gallon bucket from the doorhandle grab handle a pillar and it will fill that bucket as you described the 2014 truck #1 pointing uphill in our driveway at about a 3° angle. The water is coming in next to the passenger side rear headliner, and we have been putting a towel there and changing it out That Ditch trim you speak of? Is that the black trim that runs on the roof perhaps hiding a body seam going from the front to the back of the roof on our mega cab. We tried sealing up around the rear, brake light with silicone and sadly this did not work, do I need to pull this black trim off the roof and look underneath thanks for your help again only are two trucks with the sunroof are the ones leaking which is interesting. They are both mega cabs one from 2006 and one from 2014 2006 truck only leaks at the front door grab handle passenger side mainly Although my wife used to complain, Water would hit her knee when she was driving. Then I think I said put a towel on your lap ha ha we are constantly changing out towels and putting the fan in the truck to dry things out in our driveway. It appears that mainly it is passenger side headliner getting wet in the 2014 as I recall although there may be a bit of moisture on the driver side rear ,also Headliner

@redwood6737. yes, have attempted to seal up, “Ditch Trim,” Right rear storage, is now dry. Left side still leaking/pooling in storage. Have cleared rear window drains, prior to current pooling. All sunroof drains are flowing, “full stream. The third brake light area was dry, no staining. 6:06
